This piece was a culmination of hair-cutting sessions with multiple peers. I cut the hair, allowing it to fall on a prepared sheet. 

After the sessions, the chair and mirror used, as well as the hair, were left frozen in time, evidencing an event that has passed and the presence of those whose hair still remains. 

This is an example of the index, a signifier of an absent signified, which arises only through a physical connection or change.
